Should you claim?

Even if you only worked one day from home in the entire year you are eligible to claim for this tax refund. As the allowance was introduced in 2020 and extended until 2022, you may be eligible to claim for both tax year’s allowances (2020-2021.2021-2022) if you worked form home for at least one day in each year.

You worked one day from home

You incurred additional costs

You were subject to income tax at the time

Home working

You may be able to claim tax relief for additional household costs if you have to work at home for all or part of the week.

You can claim tax relief if you have to work from home, for example because:

your job requires you to live far away from your office

your employer does not have an office

You can only claim for things to do with your work, such as:

business phone calls
